SA Blood Donor Centre

Blood donation is a simple procedure. It takes 30 minutes of your time and yet your one donation can help save the lives of three other people. Every day in KZN the hospitals need around 400 units of blood for patients and this is a responsibility that rests with the community. One never knows when you or a member of your family will need blood.

The local blood doner centre is situated at 55 Umhlanga Rocks Drive (opposite the firestation) and was opened specifically to make it more convenient for North Durban residents to donate blood.

It is very spacious, air-conditioned for comfort during the humid months, and has friendly welcoming staff.

Sister Joy Pires is the Sister in Charge of the clinic and is ably assisted by Hansu Bhikha, the phlebotomist.

The clinic times are:
Weekdays- 10 am to 5 pm
Tuesdays- 10 am to 6 pm
Saturdays- 9 am to 12 noon
