Welcome to Umhlanga Rocks
Central to the Umhlanga coastline region is the holiday village of Umhlanga Rocks, originally part of the sugar estate of Sir Marshall Campbell. In 1931 Umhlanga became a village and began to expand into what is today a thriving village that offers all the amenities of a well established town, while retaining the feel of a friendly seaside community.
From a Business point of view, Umhlanga boasts the upmarket Business centre of Umhlanga Ridge just on the outskirts of Umhlanga residential areas. This area houses various large national and small commerical Businesses in the prestigious and impressive Business park.
When it comes to entertainment and activities, Umhlanga has an amazing aray to choose from, including the Natal Sharks Board, the only organisation of its kind in the world.
Far enough away to not disturb the scenic and tranquil air, yet almost close enough to walk to, Umhlanga also houses "Gateway", the largest shopping centre in the Southern hemisphere.
More than just a shopping centre though, Gateway is an experience. Within its boundaries is a selection of both indoor and outdoor activities, including movie theatres, IMax theatre, wave pool, climbing wall, amusement arcade, night clubs, restaurants, adventure drives and much, much more.
The local Umhlanga Hospital houses an outstanding casualty department, trauma and burn unit and a comprehensive range of top specialists to cater to every imaginable medical need.
